PAWSabilities Physical Therapy offers laser therapy to all species of pets! That's because ALL animals can benefit from laser therapy. Laser therapy works like photosynthesis, flooding the body's cells with light and using that energy to repair and grow damaged cells. The photons target the cells of any damaged connective tissue, which includes ligaments, bone, tendons, muscle, joint cartilage (preventing arthritis!), nerve sheaths, skin, and hair/fur. Laser therapy also stimulates all of the body's healing processes to increase circulation, drain inflammation, and release tissue endorphins to instantly reduce pain and promote relaxation. Dr. Megan lasers the entire body in order to treat the source of the problem as well as reduce soreness in overused muscles and prevent arthritis in overused joints!

Physical therapy is just as beneficial for dogs as it is for people! Whether your dog is recovering from an injury or living with a chronic condition that effects their mobility or causes pain, physical therapy can help your furry friend feel better! The first visit will include an initial evaluation and treatment. Non-invasive thermal imaging can be used to view exactly where inflammation is located in your dog's body, and then we can reduce inflammation at the source. Dr. Megan will also perform a hands-off analysis of your dog's movement as well as a hands-on assessment of your dog's muscles and joints. Canine physical therapy treatments include full-body laser treatment, with localized massage and stretching incorporated into the treatment. Depending on your dog's needs, your sessions may also include gait retraining, balance training, home exercise programs, and measurements for wheeled carts!

Laser therapy quickly addresses inflammation and pain, while facilitating the body's natural healing processes.
Massage is incorporated into your pet's session when they have muscles that are tight, sore, or painful so that they can move better and feel better.
Stretching is incorporated into your pet's session when they have joints and muscles that are stiff or overused so they can enjoy better range of motion and prevent injury.
In classic physical therapy fashion, you will get a customized home exercise program so that your dog can continue making gains in strength and mobility after therapy.
If your dog is having trouble walking or exhibits a gait impairment, we can retrain them to walk again!
If your dog is holding a leg up or simply not wanting to put weight on the leg, we can do balance training once the pain is addressed.
Some pets need special equipment such as a wheeled cart, harness with a handle, or paw grips, and we work directly with k9carts.com to get your dog exactly what they need!
